Fifty Shades of Whiffy Pants

Day 2.

Manny has decided to set up her own Just Giving page.  With any luck she should have all of Bollywood donating.  It's taken most of the day so I bloody hope so (every rupee helps!)

I have emailed all 75 people in my contact list with a link to my Just Giving page....they have collectively decided to act as if I've offered them a share of £20,000,000 if only they'd give me their postal address as well as their first born!

I've performed makeup on 5 people today.  I think that's the equivalent of a 3 mile speed walk. Exercise sorted.

The team had a group meeting resulting in a mock picture supplied by Ciara.  She has superimposed our faces onto the bodies of various super models.  Let's hope they don't look too closely at our faces as both Manny and I look like we're giving birth to a cactus!

We finished the evening drinking Mojitos and watching Fifty Shades of Grey.  Was the film graphic? Not really.  There is a scene where Anna is about to lose her virginity.  Christian goes on bended knee, about to indulge in a bit of conalingus, get's a whiff of her knickers, which, incidentally, she's been sweating in all day at work and most of the night, without a shower!   Quite rightly, he changes his mind and decides to give her a good rogering instead.

Dialoge is not as awful as the book.  Will be seeing the sequel.

Madness or Commendable? You Choose

So its been a while since I last ventured into the world of blogdum, (is there such a word?)  forgive me father it 's been 3 years since my last confession!

How people blog on a daily basis and hold down a full time job is beyond me. It just used to take up soooo much time. I'd give myself an hour to update, only to find myself still at the computer 4 hours later editing and extending and extending....

So why am I back now ? Well, I have had friends as well as my own father die of cancer.  I have also had friends and family members who have been dragged through the bowels of hell and come out the other side, so anything we can do to help should be encouraged. Right?

My fellow colleagues and I (that's you Manny Semra and Ciara McCarthy), 3 of the most unfit, battle scarred (makeup cases cause havoc with the limbs you know) makeup artists you could ever meet.  Have decided to do the  5k Pretty Muddy Race for life on behalf of cancer research.  5 kilometres of inflatabletorturous, obstacles covered in mud.   So if you happen to be in Reading on 30th May come along or you could just subscribe to this blog and follow our antics.....videos will also be provided for those of you with masochistic tendencies, who enjoy seeing fat arses covered in mud and looking like a marathon runner with bowel issues!

Day1.

We have paid our registration fee (it costs to take part). We've chosen a name 'DirtyDollys' if you must know.  Flirty Flappers and Virgina Monkeys having being rejected by the group due to the offence it may cause when shouted by our accompanying cheer squad.

We have selected our JustGiving page, which at the moment comes with a preset template, which we will edit at a later date with images to entice people to part with their hard earned cash or ill gotten gains, we're not fussy! But for now the template has been posted on Facebook. We received our first donation within 2mins whoop! Whoop!

I have instructed the squad...yes I'm that serious,... that we have to start doing some form of excercise. 'Makeup artist dies in face full of mud ' is not an option, so I took the first step (parden the pun) and downloaded the S step pedometer.  Apparently 10,000 steps a day is a really healthy goal to aim for. Today I have done...oh 3599 ....still early days!

Thought of The Day

Our biggest enemy is doubt.  Doubt we will be laughed at. Doubt that we will fail. Doubt we are not worthy.  Doubt our dreams will not come true.

Once we can master that beast, and trust in the unseen.  We can sprout wings on our hands AND our feet and soar high like wings of eagles!!!

Thoughts for Today

You don't have to know the mechanics on how your body works, before you put one foot in front of the other.  Your brain says walk and your feet follow.

So why do you NEED to know HOW your dreams are going to come true?

Just BELIEVE and TRUST that they will.

OMG! What's Happening With BOURJOIS???

So this week I attended a press evening with the lovely ladies at BOURJOIS and I must say, they have stepped up their game within the cosmetic market.

If you considered Bourjois an inexpensive brand, strictly for the teenies look again! Bourjois has entered into the False Lash market and they have come with a bang, not a whimper!  I fell in love with their exclusive 'paper' lashes (see below)which will look fantastic on a fashion shoot. They also have a selection of full and half lashes.

Miss Couture Paper Lashes

It doesn't end there. To put on your new lashes, they have also brought out eyelash tweezers, that clamp the lash using one end and an angled rubber tip on the other end, to press down the lash.  Available in Bourjois girlie pink, naturally.

To complete the look there is an Intuitive 24hr eyeliner.  It comes with a three pronged tip, giving you the versatility to apply a wide line (you can even leave the 3 fine lines for that extravagant fashion statement!), a thin stroke or dotted lines (which you can join up if you are unable to produce a continual straight line) or you can use it to close the gaps  between the lashes.  It glides on easily and is lusciously dark black.

Eyeliner and Tweezers

I'm not sure what has been going on within the creative team, but I for one am LOVING IT!

Nails to Dye For

Ok so the Olympics is over...WELL DONE US!!!! I was fortunate to be apart of it and picked up a must have product.

Now those of you who know me, will know that I try and avoid all things to do with nails, including my own constant splitting and peeling back scratchers.

There was a lot of nail art at the olympics and when I tried to give it a go, my nails were left in a lumpy mess!

Introducing Seche Vite (available at Sallys RRP £8.29).  Not only does this fast drying top coat keep your nail varnish chip free for at least a week (mine would previously last an hour at best) but it fills in all the crevasses in your nails caused by flaking. You can paint your nails two different colours, a design, anything your heart desires. Put the Vite on last and in a mere minute, your nails are chrystal hard, smooth and touch dry! It was sooooo good, it got me back into blogging!!!

Be sure to use in a well ventilated area though.....never get high on your own supply!
